About Navasota, TX - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Located in portions of Brazos and Grimes Counties, Navasota is a growing city with approximately 7,800 residents as of 2018. This city is known as “The Blues Capital of Texas” for the late Mance Lipscomb, who was a Navasota native. Originally founded in 1831 by European Americans, the name of Navasota is thought to originate from the Native American term nabatoto, which translate to “muddy water.” Today, Navasota is a prime destination for families for its numerous employment opportunities, and it is served by the Navasota Independent School District.

There are a number of things to see in Navasota. The city retains many historic Victorian homes along Washington Avenue, and Brule Field is a natural amphitheater built during the Great Depression. Antique hunters will enjoy a trip to the city, and prime stops include Stonecroft Marketplace, Westwick Antiques, and The Navasota Emporium. The city hosts several events throughout the year like the Blues Bluebonnets & BBQ festival and the Navasota Bluesfest. In addition, residents and visitors can enjoy a delicious meal at one of the city’s many restaurants, such as Café M Bloomers A Restaurant, Classic Rock Coffee and Kitchen, and Carroll’s Giant Burger.

Navasota weather is temperate and subtropical. Summers are humid and hot, and the only real variation in the weather is the occasional rain shower. High temperatures reach into the 90s, but a few days each year see thermostat readings into the 100s. Climate controls are more important during the summer than any other season, as high temperatures can lead to heat exhaustion, heat stroke, and other weather-related illnesses. Central air conditioning is crucial during these months.

Alternatively, winters in the region are mild, and low temperatures typically last two months or less. While snow and ice are rare, temperatures can fall to the 40s or lower during this time, especially after the sun goes down. While they may not be used much throughout the year, a furnace or the heating action of a heat pump is important to stay comfortable at home during the winter season.
